On April 11th, 12th and 13th 2019, I had the best three days of my life, at Star Wars Celebration. It was held at Chicago, Illinois a place I have been to many times. It is a gathering of Star Wars fans to celebrate the franchise of Star Wars. I went to Star Wars Celebration with my Aunt, Uncle and cousin who are big Star Wars fans like myself. Before 2019 I have heard of Star Wars Celebration and watched a few times on YouTube because they would have Celebration in Florida or California. In May of 2018, Star Wars announced that Star Wars Celebration would come to Chicago. I was very excited that Celebration is coming to Chicago which is close to home, I wanted to buy tickets right away but it wasn't for sale. My Aunt and Uncle asked me when it was announced to come with them, and I obviously said yes. So I kept a close eye on the website to see what guests are coming, I remember talking about Celebration a year before the event happened. Many months later, came April 2019, I was super prepared for Star Wars Celebration. I got my badges and my autograph tickets all ready, I was ready to meet a lot of celebrates who I loved watching in Star Wars. There were so many stars I could name but the main ones I were really excited to meet were Ian Mcdiarmid who played Emperor Palpatine in 5 of the 6 films. Another person I was excited to meet was Hayden Christianson who played Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader in the prequal trilogy. I was sad though that Mark Hamill was not going, I really wanted to see Luke Skywalker himself. I was also chosen as a guest to watch the Star Wars episode 9 panel which was really exciting.
Day 1: Thursday April 11th 2019. we got to McCormick Place where Star Wars Celebration was being held. In my mind I was so happy because this was the day I thought of for years and it is finally happening. The lines to get in were crazy, after about an hour of waiting we got in and it was crazy. Inside the McCormick center was a lot of Star Wars memorabilia, and all of the Star Wars fans you can think of. I had a few autographs that day but the whole first day was to walk around.
Day 2: Friday April 12th 2019. Another exciting day of Star Wars Celebration, in the morning I saw the Episode 9 panel and it was crazy and sad because it is the end of the Skywalker saga. I saw all of the stars from the upcoming film, even got to see a teaser trailer for the film with a surprise guest at the end. After it was all about more autographs, I met comedian Alan Tudyk and the late great Chewbacca himself Peter Mayhew.
Day 3: Sunday April 14th 2019. The final day was coming near and I was very sad. Sunday was all about more autographs and watching the sneak peak of the Star Wars t.v show The Clone Wars panel. I met many great Clone Wars actors and actresses, and also got a surprise autograph from C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels who was very nice. I went to the Clone Wars panel for the upcoming revival of the show, I really liked the panel seeing the stars and what the final season could be. After the final panel I met the two actors I waited all year for, Ian Mcdiarmid and Hayden Christian. Both of them were very nice to me, and it made the autograph worth it.
Overall, I think Star Wars Celebration is the best three days of my life because not only for Star Wars but to talk and made friends who loved the film. I also throughout Celebration I got to spend time connecting with my cousin, mostly about Star Wars. Finally meeting all the celebrities who I looked up to as a kid, that was totally worth the year waiting. I hope it comes back to Chicago soon and I hope to attend Star Wars Celebration in the future.
